Thad Bartok studies monsters in his free time, but when schools are shut down because of a sudden attack, he learns that his worst nightmare has come true -- real live monsters are appearing on his shores. In a quest to save his loved ones, Thad joins fellow classmates Kales and Beechwood aboard a monster-hunting vessel, along with a crazy captain, a renegade pirate, and a magical water hound. But when they discover a mysterious radio signal claiming to have an answer to it all, their ship plunges into monster infested waters. Will Thad be able to retrieve the monster-killing serum from behind enemy lines? How will a mythical Telescope from a legendary pirate help him in his quest? And will he have what it takes to face his fear and save the world?

 When secret buccaneer Longfellow Jim includes a misfit teen in his conning scheme, sixteen-year old "Miles," who has been exiled to the South Seas for bad behavior, is unintentionally involved in a plot of stealing treasure 

 2. Toothless Jim

 Sixteen-year old Miles is born with a desire for battle and forced to wash dishes . . . But when wild and dangerous Toothless Jim washes ashore, Miles finds himself captain of a crew loyal to Longfellow Jim. 

3. Geronimo Jim

 Being a secret pirate is no easy thing for Sixteen-year old Miles who is a dishwasher in the South Seas . . . But when a convict floats ashore after escaping an ocean prison, Miles' life is suddenly endangered. 

4. Submarine Jim

 Miles the Mutineer is trying to stay out of trouble, and when a gang of convicts track a mad shark-hunter to his door, he can't help shying away . . . until the shark they find proves to be hiding a map to the largest treasure in the South Seas.  

5. Quicksand Jim

 When Miles the Mutineer discovers a map in the bones of a giant mammoth, he is plunged into a feud between pirate factions, at the center of which is a dangerous treasure.
